kendra

In the past year, AADD’s work touched the lives of more than 13,000 Georgians living with developmental disabilities and their families.

Thanks to donors like you, hundreds of families living with intellectual disabilities (formally know as mental retardation), cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Spinal Bifida, autism, or other developmental disabilities have information and support in accessing medical care, housing, and other necessities. More people are attending school, receiving vocational training, working, and speaking up for themselves.

With your help, women like Kendra, a young mother with developmental disabilities, are recovering from violence or sexual abuse through the Women Against Violence Support Group. With AADD's help Kendra went from an abusive situation to a stable home-life for herself and her sons, from unemployment to a steady job that pays her a living wage, and the opportunity to help mentor other women with developmental disabilities.
